What a beautiful bird. Incredibly smart, loyal and a sight to behold. Surprisingly the Blue Jay is actually Brown!!! The structure of its feathers is such that when light hits them, blue light is refracted while other light colours are absorbed making them look blue. Don’t believe us? If you come across a Blue Jay feather, try back lighting it. Without direct lights the blue is no longer reflected, and the feather appears brown. Fortunately, you won’t have that debate with our beautiful bird. Its distinctive silhouette will provide delight in any garden.
